Wendy & David Newton: City in good hands with councilors Bill Dwight and Jesse Adams

To the editor:

On Election Day, Nov. 5, each of us will have two precious votes to cast for Northampton city councilor at large.

When we decide, we focus on one major area: Who is it who instantly returns our phone calls, responds to our emails and answers our questions fully?

Our enthusiastic, unqualified support goes to Jesse Adams and Bill Dwight.

Bill Dwight is a thoughtful, outspoken progressive thinker. He provides a steady, rational voice on the City Council and is a gifted leader. His presence in the council chambers is unerringly reassuring.

Jesse Adams pays attention. A listener, he is knowledgeable, focused, clear and direct. His command of the issues is impressive. He never stops working until the job is done. His warmth and fairness are integral to his character.

In the past two years, serious and important issues have made major impacts on the future of our community. Bill and Jesse handled these issues effectively and clearly, while demonstrating strong leadership.

We felt as if we were in good hands on their watch, and looked to them both for clarity.

Remember that every voter gets two votes for councilor at large. We urge you to cast one of those votes for Jesse Adams and one for Bill Dwight.

Wendy and David Newton
