Florence woman cited after three-car crash on New South Street in Northampton results in minor injuries, destroys one car
NORTHAMPTON — A Florence woman was cited after a three-car accident near downtown Northampton destroyed one car and sent its driver to the hospital Monday evening.
Police cited Angennet K. Lashway, 38, of Berkshire Terrace, Florence, with failure to use care in stopping after her car was involved in a collision with a vehicle stopped at the traffic light at Old South and New South Streets at 4:56 p.m.
That vehicle, owned by Loni A. Thibault, 18*, of North Hatfield Road, North Hatfield, then struck another car stopped at the light belonging to Kelley A. Jarvis, 31, of Pleasant Street, Easthampton.
Thibault was treated and released from Cooley Dickinson Hospital, where she was taken after complaining of neck and head pain. Police said her car was destroyed in the crash.
Police said Lashway complained of back pain but refused treatment at the scene, and Jarvis was not injured.
Damage to the vehicles owned by Lashway and Jarvis was estimated at more than $1,000.
