Jaryd Ryan Buzzell dies in Leverett car accident

State police identified the driver and sole occupant of the car as Jaryd Ryan Buzzell of Leverett. The circumstance of the crash are under investigation.

A caller reported the accident about 1:45 a.m., saying the car had struck a tree near 54 North Leverett Road before rolling into a ditch.

State police responded with the Leverett and Amherst fire departments to the scene. They found the car on its roof. When fire personnel were able to get to the driver, he was determined to be dead.

North Leverett Road was closed for four hours to allow for the arrival of a state medical examiner, initial crash investigation, cleanup and removal of the crashed vehicle.

Investigating are Massachusetts State Police Troop B, the state police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services and detectives assigned to the Northwestern district attorney’s office.

The Leverett police and fire departments, Amherst Fire and the state Department of Transportation’s Highway Division also assisted at the scene.

Wow, I think he was the young salesman at Hyundai in Greenfield..... We just bought our new car from him.... this is so sad he was a very nice person. He spoke of his girlfriend so well and seemed so happy to be on a good start. Our Condolences.....
