Easthampton church event to support victims of human trafficking

The free event at 6:30 p.m. will feature a short presentation about human trafficking by Brenda Flower, northeast regional director of Jubilee Market, a nonprofit that provides vocational training to people rescued from sexual or other slavery, mostly in India.

Jubilee Market is an American organization that works in conjunction with Project Rescue in Kolkata, India, to help victims of trafficking leave prostitution by teaching them how to make a living making jewelry, cloth accessories and other products, said the Rev. Sharon Frankel of Envision Easthampton.

At the free event, participants can purchase goods made by former slaves and the proceeds will support them and the Jubilee Market.

For more information, contact Frankel at 413-250-1244 or envisioneasthampton@gmail.com or visit www.envisioneasthampton.org or www.thejubileemarket.com.
