Weekend high school, prep results: Frontier Regional softball defeats Drury

Cassidy Stankowski had a triple and a home run as the Frontier Regional softball team defeated Drury 10-5 in North Adams on Saturday.

Hannah Adams (one RBI) and Stankowski (one RBI) had three hits each, while McKayla Poissant added two hits and three RBIs.

Frontier (8-3) pounded out 11 hits and scored runs in each of the first four innings to take a 6-0 lead.

Krystel Enko struck out three and allowed eight hits and no walks to earn the win.

Girls lacrosse

Minnechaug 12, Amherst Regional 0 — Katie Dunn made eight saves for the Hurricanes (1-10) in Wilbraham on Saturday.

Prep schools

Williston 15, Wilbraham & Monson 1 — Adam Krol struck out 11 in a four-hitter as the Wildcats (6-4) dominated on the road Saturday.

Carlos Guzman (two runs) and Ben Sarat (one run) each had two hits in the win.


Choate 15, Williston 4 — Liz Calderone of Whately had a triple and scored a run for the Wildcats (4-5) in th eloss in Wallingford, Conn., Saturday.

Morgan Fisher added an RBI single, while Sydney Belinskas and Miranda Gohh had a hit and score a run each.

Girls track

Westminter 83, Williston 61; Williston 77, Hopkins 64 — Gabby Thomas of Florence won the long jump (17 feet, 7.5 inches), 200 meter run (26.26 seconds) and 100 meters (12.14) as the Wildcats split at home Saturday.

Lena Gandevia of Northampton won the 400 (67.49).

Boys lacrosse

Canterbury 10, Williston 8 —Jack Shumway of South Hadley scored five goals as the Wildcats lost at home Saturday.

Boys track

Westminster 81, Williston 61; Williston 88, Hopkins 53 — Tyonne Malone won the shot put (38 feet, 6.5 inches) and Javelin (133-3) as the Wildcats wplit at home Saturday.

Girls tennis

Northfield Mount Hermon 8, Williston 8 — The No. 2 doubles team of Hanna Whirty and Didi Whitman won their match 9-7 for the Wildcats on the road Saturday.

Girls water polo

Williston 11, Staples 6 — Maddy Stern of Northampton scored six goals as the Wildcats (3-8) won at home Saturday.

Persis Ticknor-Swanson of Easthampton added three goals, while Ashley Fitch of South Deerfield and Aubrey Berghoff of Easthampton had one each.

Mary McCarthy made 13 saves.

Boys golf

Kingswood-Oxford 193, Loomis 215, Choate 221, Williston 227 ­— Eric Yarrows of Easthampton shot a team-best as the Wildcats finished fourth in West Hartford, Conn., Saturday.

Girls golf

Williston 5, Westover 0; Choate 5, Williston 0 — Caitlin Berube shot a team-best 47 as the Wildcats (4-4-3) split in Wallingford, Conn., Saturday.
