Wendy Redfield: Let’s keep Northampton shining - stop littering
To the editor:
Here’s a letter on litter, and a word to the wise: This is a wonderful city, ripe with gay pride, persons of every race, economic background and creed. I do not understand why people insist on ruining it with every form of litter, from empty liquor bottles and beer cans to candy wrappers, cigarette packs, coffee cups and soda cans.
This city has some of the most beautiful architecture, art and music, probably in the world; yet its citizens and tourists insist on chucking disgusting garbage all over the place.
Need 5 cents? Return your own bottles and cans.
Northampton has much to offer families, students and professionals of every stripe. I am sure I am not alone in appreciating the many bike paths, conservation lands and parks that this city has to offer. Please do “Give a hoot — don’t pollute!”
