Two hurt in Easthampton motorcycle crash
EASTHAMPTON — A married couple riding a motorcycle were injured Monday evening when a car backed into them, according to police.
William Champagne and passenger Carrie Ann Champagne, both 45 and of West Springfield, were driving toward Southampton on Route 10 when Sarah Boyle, 19, of 369 Main St., pulled out of her driveway and into the path about 5:52 p.m., police said.
Sgt. William Kelly said Carrie Ann Champagne appeared seriously hurt and that William Champagne suffered a leg injury but was walking after the collision.
Both were taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. A spokesman said Monday night that Carrie Ann Champagne was listed in good condition and that William Champagne had been treated and released.
Boyle was unhurt, Kelly said. She was cited for failure to use in care in turning.
