Charles Schmid: Academy of Music play no comedy for Christians

To the editor:

I was amazed to read that the Academy of Music was to have a play about a Biblical story with gay characters. The Academy has always been professional and I understand it wants to make money. But to allow something this disgusting to go on there has really shocked me. This play is nothing more than an attack on Christians’ beliefs. It is not funny.

Christians are already under attack. We are told that this play is a comedy, but it is not to some of us. It is an attack on the Bible and what a true marriage is. Thank God that some churches still side with God. I urge all Christians, Christian parents, all those city officials who love the Bible, all citizens who see this so-called play for what it really is, to call city officials and to do everything in their power to not allow this kind of blasphemous trash in our towns. There is no excuse, none whatsoever, for this kind of play. Arise true Christians.
