Great Falls Discovery Center hours, programs
During the winter, the Great Falls Discovery Center in Turners Falls is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by special arrangement with school and community groups.
Starting May 18, the center will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., extending its hours to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
Admission is free. However, the center hosts some fee-based programs.

The center is located at 2 Avenue A in Turners Falls.
Coming events include:
• March 9: A “Watershed Investigators” free program for children, which offers hands-on discovery of local nature, 10:30 a.m. to noon with the Conte refuge staff. Elements in this monthly gathering can include crafts, games, stories and exploration. It is geared towards children in grades 2-5, but all are welcome.
• March 22: This month’s “Discovery Hour,” from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. is scheduled to focus on nests and is for children ages 3 to 6, with their parents. It is free.
