Herschel S. Shohan: Senate candidate Markey needs friends in WMass
To the editor:
All over western Massachusetts, thousands of Democrats are organizing to elect Ed Markey to the U.S. Senate.
No wonder: Markey brings experience. Passion. A progressive agenda on all major issues in his years of service in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1976.
Time and again, as one of our Congressmen, Markey has gone all-out for the tough issues: climate change, women’s rights and LBGT equality. He’s recently teamed up with Rep. Rosa DeLaurio, D-Conn., to go after Wall Street oil investment products.
He’s a tireless fighter for working families, too.
The Democratic primary is speeding towards us. Primary Day is April 30. The special election to fill John Kerry’s seat is June 25.
Eastern Massachusetts leans toward Markey’s more conservative primary opponent, Stephen Lynch. So western Massachusetts volunteers need to rally now.
