Easthampton bicyclist struck by car on Pleasant Street
EASTHAMPTON — A 49-year-old city man who was struck by a vehicle while bicycling Wednesday afternoon was treated for his injuries and released from Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Harold Vallie of 41 South St., Apt. 22, was bicycling east on Pleasant Street at 3:49 p.m. A vehicle traveling west, driven by Lisa Hoag of Wendell, was attempting to turn left onto Prospect Street when it collided with Vallie, police said.
Hoag told police she had stopped to let a vehicle traveling east go by before turning, and did not see Vallie cycling across the intersection when she turned. She was cited for failure to use care in turning.
