Tuesday’s downhill skiing: Sean Doyle of Frontier Regional places second in slalom race

In the best overall showing for local skiers this season, three boys finished in the top five of the slalom race Tuesday at Berkshire East in Charlemont.

Frontier’s Sean Doyle came in second overall in 35.48 seconds, Charles Denhart of Northampton was third at 36.1, while Austin Herman of Gateway finished fifth at 37.98.

In the girls giant slalom, Amherst’s Margaret O’Connell was seventh overall at 26.89, while Lucy Sloan (14th, 28.1) and Madison Mientka (16th, 28.11) led the Blue Devils to first place in the South Division.
