Valley Views: Local photographers aim their cameras outdoors
QUABBIN, SOUTHWEST REGION
Belchertown
Photograph and text by Patti Castagne of Northampton
As you drive along Route 9 in Belchertown, you pass three entrances to the Quabbin Reservoir. About a half-mile down the road is a small fishing area marked WR-2. This photograph was taken in February 2010. We’d had rain and then the temperatures had dropped throughout the night, leaving a winter wonderland the following morning. I had never seen anything so beautiful in my life. We arrived around 7 a.m. and the temperatures already had risen. By 10 a.m., the snow and ice had melted.
This photograph was taken with a DSLR camera and a wide-angle lens.
