Smith College basketball upsets No. 20 Williams
Rosa Drummond hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 47 seconds remaining as the Smith College basketball team upset No. 20 Williams College 53-49 in Northampton Monday.
It was the first victory over Williams in 25 years for Smith.
The Pioneers improved to 17-2, while Williams fell to 16-4.
Drummond (seven rebounds) finished with a game-high 21 points. Paulina Solis netted 13 points, with four assists and six boards. Amanda Zakoske had six points, nine rebounds and four steals.
Trailing 49-48, Drummond curled off a screen and dropped in her third 3 of the game to give Smith the lead for good. Devon Quattrocchi and Solis each went 1 for 2 from the free-throw line to seal the win.
