Northampton accident downs 2 utility poles

Police said Matthew Borsuk, 21, of 71 Stone Ridge Drive, Northampton, was driving north on North Elm Street by St. Mary’s Cemetery when his vehicle drifted off the side of the road and struck a utility pole. The force of that falling pole caused a nearby pole to snap off, police said.

Borsuk declined medical treatment, police said. He was cited for unsafe operation of a motor vehicle after he told police he was reaching for a napkin when the crash occurred.
