Tyler Barcomb denies robbing Subway restaurant in Northampton, held on $20,000 bail

NORTHAMPTON — The man prosecutors say is responsible for the November robbery of the Subway restaurant on King Street denied charges Wednesday in Hamphsire Superior Court.

Tyler R. Barcomb, 26, was ordered held on $20,000 bail after pleading not guilty to one count of unarmed robbery and two counts of wanton destruction of property over $250.

According to police and court records, Barcomb allegedly entered the restaurant Nov. 11, asked a clerk for change and grabbed about $300 from the open drawer.

He allegedly destroyed two counter displays, valued at about $700, before fleeing.

Barcomb was arrested two days later after being identified, in part, by the sweatshirt he allegedly wore during the robbery.

Barcomb is due back in court May 22 for a pre-trial hearing.
