  • Hampshire Regional eighth-grade lab partners Stephen Buckner and Hannah Griswold measure the voltage generated by a miniature wind turbine held in the airstream of a nearby fan. They built and tested the turbine in the Mechanics Playground at Ford Hall during their class's engineering-themed field trip to Smith College on Monday. The pair then backed away from the air source to generate just the right amount of voltage to light a small LED.<br/>KEVIN GUTTING
