SOUTHAMPTON — Police are investigating a robbery at Rite Aid Pharmacy at 14 College Highway that occurred today at 8:09 a.m., just minutes after the store opened.

Lt. Michael Goyette said the suspect, a male, did not show a weapon. Nobody was hurt. He declined to release what the man left the store with.

Police radio transmissions indicated that officers unsuccessfully searched the area around the store for the suspect following the incident.

Standing outside the locked store just before 10 a.m., Goyette said the robbery was under investigation and he would release more details later today.

The store was closed while police talked with employees and witnesses inside. An employee brought prescriptions to the door for pharmacy customers.
