Valley Views: Local photographers aim their cameras outdoors
Poland Road, Conway
Photograph and text by Judy Cummings of West Deerfield
I jumped in my car the day after a storm last winter and drove to Poland Road in Conway, one of my favorite locations to shoot. I stopped along the side of the road to admire the beautiful snow-covered hills. I especially loved how the tall pines, still laden with heavy snow, stood out from the dormant deciduous trees. It was late in the afternoon, and even my eyes could see the cool blue light when I clicked the shutter. The image was captured with a tripod mounted DSLR camera and a normal lens for a four-second exposure.
