Shots said fired during brawl in Florence

NORTHAMPTON — Police are investigating reports that someone twice fired a handgun into the air during a brawl early Sunday morning outside the Silk City Tap Room in Florence. No injuries were reported.

Silk City staff called police shortly before 2 a.m. asking for help in removing several customers from the bar at 99 Main St. While officers were on their way, the customers exited the bar.

A witness told police that about 10 people started fighting in the parking lot. During that scuffle, someone pulled out a gun and fired it twice.

Police said there are no suspects and the incident is under investigation.
