Wednesday’s high schools: Easthampton hockey skates past Chicopee
Mike Grise scored two goals and assisted on another as the Easthampton hockey team skated past Chicopee 4-3 Wednesday night at Lossone Rink.
Grise drilled the game winner with just over seven minutes remaining in regulation. Alex Zadworny and Rob Carmel each contributed a goal and an assist, while Tim Pfau also picked up an assist.
Matt Sarafin recorded 34 saves in net for the Eagles (3-2-3).
Boys basketball
Granby 65, Southwick 49 — Corey Baker led all scorers with 26 points and added eight rebounds to lead the Rams (8-1, 2-1 Bi-County North) to the road win.
Jesse Molin added 22 points and five boards for Granby, which raced to a 22-6 lead after one quarter.
South Hadley 89, Pioneer Christian 29 — The Tigers (5-3) exploded for a season-high point total en route to the easy win at home.
Evan Marcus led four players in double-digits with 18 points. Avon White and Anthony Bullough each had 12 points, while Nate Flachs added 11.
South Hadley, which forced 41 turnovers, led 26-10 after the first quarter and 55-19 at halftime.
