We couldn’t help but notice Hampshire College student Emily Waters as she crossed Main Street in Northampton, wearing a short red dress and a five-panel hat.

Dress: I have a number of dresses and they are easy to throw on. I figured it was less cold today so I’d wear a dress. I got this from the Salvation Army. It was actually a long dress but I cut and hemmed it.

Hat: This is from the Only NY brand. I have a couple of five-panel hats that I like to wear. They are like my signature.

Shoes: I got these from a vintage shop in Philadelphia. I like to wear vintage clothes.

Bag: I got this off eBay. There are a number of these bags in vintage stores but they are expensive so I was just looking for a cheaper version.

Everyday process: I choose what to wear depending on my mood and what is practical. I also appreciate being comfortable.

Favorite era: I like the stuff from the ’50s and ’60s. I like stuff with bow ties and hats.
