For the week ending Nov. 30, the sale of a home in Amherst was the highest recorded property transaction in Hampshire and southern Franklin counties, followed by sales of two properties in Northampton.
Brian Jeffrey Bowles sold a brick Colonial home at 197 Amity St. in Amherst for $610,000 to John Steven and Sharon L. Judge of Annandale, Va., according to land records. Built in 1927, the 3,140-square-foot home has five bedrooms and 2.5 baths and sits on a .28-acre lot. It features finely crafted woodwork, formal dining and living rooms, a sunroom and French doors.
The second-highest sale, for $599,000, involved a property at 146 North Maple St. in Florence. Ann M. and Ronald C. Perrault sold the three-family dwelling to Linda A. Pezzini of Northampton. Built circa 1900, the 4,165-square-foot building has 15 rooms, including six bedrooms and four bathrooms. It is located near Florence Center on a .66-acre lot.
The third-highest transaction featured a newly built home at 92 Olander Drive in Northampton that sold for $567,040. Wright Builders Inc. transferred the property, part of the Village Hill Northampton development, to Kenneth R. Dym and Anne C. Bauer of Leyden.
