Mountain Road in Easthampton to close Thursday for maintenance work
EASTHAMPTON — Mountain Road, also known as Route 141, will be closed Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for maintenance work. Drivers should plan to use an alternate route that day, said Public Works Director Joseph I. Pipczynski.
Pipczynski said the work is “normal yearly maintenance” that includes brush cutting on the roadsides to control vegetative growth and removing a few dead trees that are hanging over the road.
Workers will also be inspecting and cleaning all the catch basins and drainage swales, or ditches, to allow for proper drainage during the winter months.
The work is a combined effort by the Highway and the Sewer Departments, Pipczynski said.
