The Valley’s long been a fertile place for local music, and the Collective Music Group has showcased some of the choicest bits in the last two years with a pair of compilation albums. The 10 artists featured on the recently released second CD, ranging from rockers Lux DeLuxe to rapper Vesuveo, will come together to celebrate the album Sunday at Northampton’s Iron Horse Music Hall at 7 p.m.

Great Britain’s Ian McEwan has been snagging literary awards and critical acclaim for years with novels like “Atonement” and “Enduring Love.” His latest book, “Sweet Tooth,” is an engrossing story about a young Cambridge student, Serena Frome, recruited by Britain’s intelligence agency during the Cold War to infiltrate a literary circle. The Daily Beast calls it “McEwan’s most stylish and personal book to date.”
