Road crossings remain hazard for all
To the editor:
If government-built and sanctioned legal crossing zones really worked, we would not have people in reflective clothing holding up huge stop signs at them.
Motorists stop for a school bus with red lights flashing in front of them or when a school crossing guard is holding a sign. They do that because someone is watching them.
Legal crosswalks are dangerous because motorists are asked to use the honor system, which in this case isn’t working. Pedestrians are being killed and injured and lawmakers must get back to the drawing board in earnest.
