Old safety standard has merit on roads
To the editor:
I read all the time lately of pedestrians getting hit by cars. I asked my grandson who is now 20 if he ever heard the saying “stop, look and listen” after I saw a boy on a bike who never even looked while at a crosswalk and darted out in front of me.
That expression was drilled into our heads from our parents and in school when I was young. Seems like everyone wants their rights above all others.
