Holiday stroll in the works by chambers
The South Hadley and Granby Chamber of Commerce annual Holiday Stroll will be held Saturday, Dec. 1. Santa arrives at the Town Common gazebo at 3 p.m., led by the South Hadley High School Tiger Pride Marching Band. He will chat with youngsters, pose for family-taken photos, and light the holiday tree at 5 p.m.
Afternoon activities include a cookie sale from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church with lunch served until 2 p.m.
In addition, there will be a holiday marketplace with hand-knitted creations and gifts, Gaylord Library, 1 to 3 p.m.; a children’s craft project at the library, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Musical events at the gazebo include vocalist David Mendall at 2 p.m.; Stonybrook Church Choir, 2:30 p.m.; Black Cat Theater, 2:45 p.m.; Lifepoint Church Choir, 3:30 p.m. and the South Hadley Community Band, 4:30 p.m.
Local businesses and organizations provide support for the Holiday Stroll. South Hadley Fire Department 2, the Department of Public Works, the Police Department, businesses from The Village Commons, and the South Hadley Leo’s Club provide goods and services for the event.
