Westhampton to hold special town meeting Dec. 3 on municipal spending items

Residents will be asked to weigh in on two municipal spending items at a special Town Meeting scheduled for Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.

The first item is a proposed transfer of $6,300 to the Veterans account for assistance to local veterans.

The second item is a request for authorization to spend $70,000 for a handicapped accessible bathroom and ramp for the Town Hall Annex. Westhampton had applied for a state grant to cover the annex project but the proposal was not approved, according to Margaret Parsons, the town’s administrative assistant.

The Finance Committee has recommended spending $70,000 from the town’s free cash account on the handicapped accessible renovations, Parsons said.
