∎ The annual card party sponsored by the seniors of St. Michael’s High School, which will benefit their Washington trip next spring, will be held this evening at the school auditorium. Table and door prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served.
∎ The Florence Savings Bank has filed a bill in equity with Hampshire County Superior Court for authority to foreclose a mortgage on Rahar’s Inn.Rahar’s also faces action by the License Commission in connection with a complaint from the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission that it served minors while a representative of the commission was present.

∎ The Hampshire County Courthouse turns 100 years old next week, and local officials are pulling out all the stops to celebrate its birthday. From an afternoon ceremony Wednesday removing the courthouse cornerstone with its century-old time capsule inside, to a “black tie optional” dinner that night, the courthouse is going to be the center of attention.
∎ The International Language Institute held an open house yesterday at its new headquarters in Sullivan Square, Old School Commons on New South Street.

∎ University of Massachusetts President William M. Bulger shouldn’t be blamed for the criminal activities of his brother, James “Whitey” Bulger, nor is he obligated to report his contacts witht the fugitive, area legal experts and members of the university’s faculty say.
∎ Two men walked away from a plane crash in Leeds Wednesday evening. The pilot, Michael Foy, 53, of Springfield, and his passenger, student Philip Mikan, 36, of Windsor, Conn., were treated for minor injuries at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton and released Wednesday night.
