Hold men accountable for violence they commit

To the editor:

I appreciate the recent letters to the editor calling for a public debate on sexual violence. What wasn’t noted is the fact that the great majority of sexual violence in our society is perpetrated against women and children at the hands of men. In our society, men hold the majority of positions of power in our institutions: political, legal, religious, educational and athletic. The question I would like to add to the debate is, “When will men hold men accountable for sexual violence against women and children?”
