AREA POLICE NEWS

Amherst

∎ Yoni I. Philosophe, 20, of Newton, and Zachary C. Tucker, 20, of Quincy, were both arrested Friday at 1:09 a.m. at the intersection of North Pleasant and Triangle streets on charges of disorderly conduct and possession of fake IDs after the two men were found fighting in the roadway, where they were observed by about 10 spectators, police said.

∎ Robert Scott Ferriter, 27, of 540 West St., was arrested Friday at 1:02 a.m. on West Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense, and failure to stop/yield and on an Eastern Hampshire District Court warrant, police said.

∎ Vehicles driven by Donna Schmith, 61, of 26 Tara Circle, Florence, and Debra Sondak, 28, of Great Neck, N.Y., collided on Amity Street Thursday at 5:33 p.m., police said.

Schmith was evaluated at the scene by Amherst Fire Department paramedics for back pain, but was not transported to a hospital, police said.

Both vehicles left the crash scene under their own power, police said.

∎ Courtney A. Bryggman, 21, of Cold Spring Hills, N.Y., was issued a citation for failure to use care while entering traffic after the vehicle she was driving from Station Road onto South East Street Thursday at 4:25 p.m. collided with a vehicle driven by Susan M. Hess, 56, of 15A Chestnut Hill Road, Leverett, police said.

Hess suffered minor injuries to her wrist and knee following airbag deployment and was transported by Amherst Fire Department ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for treatment, police said.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.

Easthampton

∎ Police received a report Thursday at 1:20 p.m. that someone had entered an unlocked car parked at 29 West Lake St. and taken a wallet and medications from the glove compartment.

∎ Ralph Rivera, 33, of 11 Orchard St., Apt. C, was arrested near his home on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

∎ Marisela Delgado, 34, of 177 Laconia St., Springfield, was arrested on Holyoke Street Sunday at 3 a.m. on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to use care in starting, stopping or turning.

∎ Daniel M. Winchell, 23, of 13 Monska Drive, was arrested Nov. 10 at 7:26 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and battery, failure to stop for police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and two counts of failing to stop or yield.

Police said Winchell’s parents called police because he was trying to get into their locked gun cabinet. Winchell then fled in a car and led police on a short car chase around the neighborhood before stopping, police said.

Northampton

∎ Jonathan R. Jones, 42, of 129 Pleasant St., Apt. 24, was arrested about 12:14 a.m. Friday on Main Street on charges of disorderly conduct (subsequent offense), and resisting arrest. According to police, Jones allegedly caused a disturbance at the Toasted Owl, and was uncooperative with officers, taking aggressive stances and yelling profanities before being placed under arrest.

∎ Jonathan Anthony Laurence, 52, of 43 Center St., was arrested about 4:24 p.m. Thursday on King Street on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct (subsequent offense), According to police, officers were called after reports of a man identified as Laurence asleep in a doorway at 154 King St., refusing to move and blocking the exit.

∎ Carmela Rose Hodgdon, 43, of East Longmeadow, was arrested about 9:38 a.m. Thursday on North Main Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked license, and resisting arrest following a traffic stop.
