JFK Middle School parent group raises funds for school technology
FUND DRIVE: The JFK Middle School PTO in Northampton has launched a special fund drive to expand the use of classroom technology at the school.
Last year, the PTO raised $5,000 to purchase 15 classroom projectors at JFK but many more classrooms are still lacking the equipment, school leaders report. Rather than waiting for the end of the year, the PTO is sponsoring a fund drive through Nov. 30 focused on technology. The group is reaching out to both businesses and individual donors.
In December, Principal Lesley Wilson and Angelo Rota, director of Innovative Instruction/Technology for the district, will use funds raised to purchase projectors and document readers. As of Nov. 7, the PTO reported it had raised funds to cover the purchase of five projectors.
Donations forms are available online at the JFK PTO website.
