Eizabeth Fontenot & Bernard Shea

Elizabeth Marie Fontenot and Bernard Thomas Shea of Lake Charles, La., were married on Nov. 9 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette, La. The Rev. Chester Arceneaux officiated at the 7 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Bennett and Karen Fontenot of Lafayette. The bridegroom is the son of Bernard and Kathleen Shea of Easthampton.

Following a reception at the Lafayette Convention Center Ballroom, the couple honeymooned in Ireland.

Katherine Fontenot Lindner, the bride’s sister, was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Caitlyn Shea Butler, the bridegroom’s sister, Emily Katherine Chance, Adelaide Jane Dowell, Caroline Macon Jones, Belen Barrow Timmins and Caroline Alexander Wells.

Daniel Patrick Shea, the bridegroom’s brother, was the best man. The groomsmen were Bennett Boustany Fontenot, the bride’s brother, Michael Keane Aucoin, Tyler Andrew Bak, Colby Watson Karhan, Nathan John Richi, and Ryan Oliver Goodwin. The ushers were Graham Matthew Lindner, the bride’s brother-in-law, Kyle Harris Butler, the bridegroom’s brother-in-law, Jacques Adrian Duplantier and Jonathan Hattan Jacobs.

The bride is an attorney with the law firm of Fraser Wheeler & Bergstedt in Lake Charles. A graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Lafayette, she received a bachelor’s degree in English from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, La., and a juris doctorate degree from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in Baton Rouge.

The bridegroom is an attorney with The Sanchez Law Firm in Lake Charles. A graduate of Northampton High School, he received a bachelor’s degree in business, from Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y., and a juris doctorate degree from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
