South Hadley high schoolers sponsor blood drive Friday

Due to Hurricane Sandy, many areas on the East Coast have a short supply of blood and the Red Cross is seeking donors. The South Hadley High School Leo Club, in conjunction with Red Cross, is sponsoring a blood drive Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the gymnasium of the school. This is the first of two drives, which are part of Bob’s Discount Furniture’s “High School Heroes” scholarship program.

The amount of scholarships South Hadley High School could be eligible for depends on the number of donors. The community is invited to participate and help reach the scholarship goal, as well as fulfill the Red Cross’ need for blood. Non-students should call Marilyn Ishler at 536-7742 and leave a time preference between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., as well as a name and phone number.
