Why one voter backing Brown, Zimmerman
To the editor:
May I add my name as voting for Sen. Scott Brown. I met him last February in Westfield, where I learned he was past president of the Stoughton Lions Club. I myself am a past president of the Amherst Lions Club. I can tell you he cares about people. As a lieutenant colonel in the National Guard, serving in Washington on the Armed Services Committees, he cares about veterans. Like my late friend U.S. Rep. Silvo O. Conte, Brown is not afraid to cross the aisles to get things done in Washington and knows we share many of the same values.
May I ask all veterans, their families and friends to return him to Washington where he belongs.
I also recommend George Zimmerman as Register of Deeds. When I was director of veterans services for Northampton, I worked closely with him to see that all reimbursements from the Commonwealth were received.
We also worked together to save a former Marine’s house from being taken for unpaid property taxes, which was truly a hardluck story. His compassion and dedication to the job cannot be understated. Ask all the cities, veterans, families and friends to vote for George.
