Olberding emphasizes management experience
To the editor:
The position of register of deeds is on the ballot on Nov. 6. The register must be a manager: to manage and secure the land records, to manage the staff and resources to provide access and information to the public, to manage the budget and to properly compensate employees, to manage upgrades in technology and implement electronic filing.
I am a manager. I have the education, technical ability, management experience required to manage the registry as it changes elected leadership for the first time in over 20 years. I have the breadth of knowledge of the issues facing the registry of the future. As vice-chair of the Finance Committee in Belchertown, I understand the relationship between Boston and municipalities and will fight to preserve the registry for the people of Hampshire County.
I am grateful to the voters who chose me to be their Democratic nominee. I am working hard to meet county residents to discuss their issues and to educate them on the importance of the Registry in their lives. I am the most qualified and will work just as hard for you as the next register. I ask for your vote Nov. 6.
