Weekend Planner: Art

Part of the Amherst Biennial 2012: “Art in Expected and Unexpected Places,” “The Balance: Nature/Spirit/Body/Breath Immanence” is a site-and-time-specific performance and installation work by Easthampton artist Karen Dolmanisth that opened Oct. 7 in Amherst College’s Stearns Steeple (in front of Mead Art Museum) and has been unfolding toward a Nov. 30 completion date. Visitors are invited to watch the artist at work this Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Depending on the size of the viewership, Dolmanisth’s labors will increasingly or decreasingly take the form of a dance performance. The public is also welcome to attend Friday, Nov. 30, at noon when the artist will undertake final work on her project.
