ELECTION NIGHT

Tuesday’s big show, “Election Night in America,” will feature lots of talking heads on cable and network TV stations, along with graphics galore — maps with red states, maps with blue states, maps of battleground states, and maps of too-close-to-call states. And then, at some point, barring a deadlock, they’ll announce the Projected Winner and we’ll be happy or not-so-much. Either way, the show will be over at last.

Reeve Lindbergh is the author of several wonderful memoirs about her famous parents, Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, in which she’s written candidly about their triumphs. their losses, and the secrets they kept. She’ll read from “Against Wind and Tide: Diaries and Letters of Anne Morrow Lindbergh,” on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Neilson Library Browsing Room at Smith College, Northampton. 585-ARTS.
