Easthampton

HALLOWEEN OPEN HOUSE: The Emily Williston Memorial Library will hold a special open house today from 3 to 5 p.m. where kids can wear their trick-or-treating costumes, create crafts and have a treat.

FOOD FOR FINES: The Emily Williston Memorial Library will hold their annual Food For Fines program from Thursday to Nov. 21. During this time patrons may donate nonperishable food items, diapers and toiletries and the library will forgive fines up to $2 per item brought in. This does not include replacement fees or billed items. No credit will be given for future fines or donations after Nov. 21. The library cannot accept home-canned items, expired foods, dented, damaged or opened items. All donations will go to the Easthampton Community Center Food Pantry.

FOOD DRIVE FOR THE COMMUNITY: Mary Ann’s Dance and More, located at 56 Cottage St., will hold its annual food drive for the Easthampton Community Center from Thursday to Nov. 19. CALL TO ARTISTS: Easthampton City Arts+ will host its 4th Annual Small Works Show and Sale, an exhibit that aims to benefit patrons and artists that will coincide with the Light Up the Arts Holiday Bash.

The exhibit will run from Dec. 6 to Jan. 5, 2013. Applications are due Nov. 23. Submissions may be no larger than 10-by-10 inches and must be ready to hang and/or exhibit. Applicants can complete an application at Easthamptoncityarts.com/smallworks.

Southampton

SPAGHETTI TO GO: The Southampton Cub Scouts will sell takeout pasta dinners for $5 each on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Southampton Fire Department on College Highway. All proceeds will benefit the Southampton Cub Scouts for future events.

VETS’ DINNER: Southampton veterans, and those wishing to honor them, are invited to a Veterans’ Celebration Dinner on Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Southampton on College Highway. The roast beef dinner is being organized by Richard LeClerc, commander of American Legion Post 168 and sponsored by the group Thankful Citizens. There will also be raffles, door prizes and patriotic entertainment. Reservations are required by Saturday. To reserve a seat, call Nancy Hughes at 527-4878.

Williamsburg

FAMILY FARMING LECTURE: “An Intimate Look at Family Farming and CSAs” is the topic for the free final lecture in the fall series on gardening and healthy eating at Meekins Library on Thursday at 7 p.m. Sahna Totino of Good Friends’ Farm in Williamsburg and Tevis Robertson-Goldberg of Crabapple Farm in Chesterfield will discuss their experiences as local family farmers. The event is free.
