Last Tuesday, Brooks-Thompson, 28, won her Battle Round in a showdown with fellow teammate, 15-year-old Adanna Duru. The two sang a duet, Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love,” on a stage designed to look like a boxing ring.

Although coach Adam Levine commended the younger performer on her vocals, he advanced Brooks-Thompson, saying “I’ve gotta give this to Michelle.”

Brooks-Thompson will appear next in the Knockout Round, which will air in the next few weeks. In that round, she will compete against another teammate, this time in a solo performance, and Levine will again choose who stays and who leaves.

The show is on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
