UMass field hockey rolls past Saint Louis

Fresh off its victory over No. 1-ranked Syracuse, the University of Massachusetts field hockey team rolled past Saint Louis 6-2 at Garber Field Friday.

Nicole Cordero scored three goals, while Thando Zono and Molly MacDonnell (assist) each had one for the Minutewomen (7-8, 1-1 Atlantic 10).

Kim Young had two assists, while Sam Carlino and Sammy Zeiders shared time in goal and made two saves combined.

Men’s soccer

UMass 2, Saint Joseph’s 0 — Josh Schwartz and Jake Alvaro each scored as the Minutemen (4-5-2, 1-1 Atlantic 10) won at home.

Will Ellis and Brett Canepa each had one assist, while Brian Frame made three saves in the shutout.

Women’s soccer

Saint Joseph’s 2, UMass 1 — Moa Mattsson scored and Jen Coppola had the assist but the Minutewomen (7-7-0, 2-2- Atlantic 10) fell on the road.

Emily Cota made two saves in the loss.

Women’s volleyball

Amherst 3, Middlebury 2 — Lizzie Ahern had 19 kills, Lauren Antion had 17 kills and Emily Waterhouse (19 digs) added 11 as the Lord Jeffs won 25-21, 25-19, 13-25, 22-25, 15-12 in Amherst.

Nicole Carter had 45 assists and three aces in the win.
