Pop culture Q&A: Erica Rose best known for ‘The Bachelor: Rome’

Q: I keep seeing Erica Rose, but I’m not looking for her. I saw her in something that looked like a documentary, then she was on “Dr. Phil” as a spoiled rich woman, and recently she was on “Bachelor Pad.” Who is she?

A: According to a website devoted to her, Erica Rose is “best known for her outrageous antics and high-maintenance attitude on ‘The Bachelor: Rome.’” During those 2006 telecasts, the site says, “she was famous for wearing a tiara to ‘bring out her inner princess’ and saying to Prince Lorenzo Borghese upon meeting him ‘I flew coach for you.’”

She became enough of a TV draw to go on to shows like “Bachelor Pad” (both the second and third runs), VH1’s “You’re Cut Off” and a series for Fox Reality Channel. She has both a law degree and a workout video called “Stiletto Bikini Blast” — because, as she says in the video, “who wants to wear a bikini without stilettos?” Nor do the insights from the Houston attorney end there. In an interview with Celebuzz after her ouster from “Bachelor Pad 3,” she talked about focusing on her legal career and personal life because “I think that screwing around on reality TV has really put me behind a lot of my friends.”

Q: Has “Army Wives” ended? And why was Kim Delaney not seen in the last episodes?

A: While it appeared in some promotional material that the Lifetime drama’s most recent season would be its last, the network has in fact picked it up for another 13 episodes to air in 2013.

Kim Delaney was little seen on the show after a public appearance in September 2011 during which she seemed disoriented; since she has reportedly had substance-abuse issues in the past, the appearance raised questions about more problems. On the show itself, it looked as if Williams’ character was a substitute of sorts for Delaney’s. But Delaney has rebounded before and, as far as I can tell, Lifetime never publicly said if she was on or off “Army Wives.”

Q: On the season premiere of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” is the actor who played the undercover cop Cassidy the person who plays Mayhem in the Allstate commercial?

A: Yes. That is Dean Winters, an actor also known for his work on “Rescue Me” and other series — including “Law & Order: SVU.” He had a regular role as Cassidy during that NBC series’ first season in 1999-2000 and returned for several appearances at the end of last season and the beginning of this one.

Q: Do you know the future of the show “Little People, Big World”? It was on Sept. 3 for three hours with what appeared to be new shows.

A: The series about the Roloff family ended its run as a regular series in 2010. But the family has continued to appear in specials for TLC. The Sept. 3 telecast, which took the Roloffs to Australia, was one of those specials.
