Let’s skip the euphemism  about strip club’s purpose

To the editor:

I write in regard to the Sept. 28 story headlined, “One man dead in early morning shooting in South Hadley.”

That story began, “A double shooting outside Anthony’s Gentlemen’s Club early Friday morning has left one man dead and a second injured.”

I would like to know who determined that johns, who pay money to prostitutes at a strip club, who in turn pay money to a pimp, should be comically called “gentlemen” in this business name? Far from it, really.

Amid the worry about casinos and the prostitution they will bring, consider that strip clubs already exist and they obviously attract the same caliber of people. Wasn’t this the same place where one of the prostitutes was rolled by a couple of johns in the parking lot?

Are these headlines ever a surprise?
