Kathleen Mellen’s best bets
It can take guts to tell the truth. Imagine doing so in front of a paying crowd who not only want to hear your deepest, darkest secrets, but want to be entertained, too. My hat’s off to the 10 fearless women who will present “Too Much Information” tonight at 8 p.m. at the Northampton Center for the Arts, 17 New South St. Each will offer a monologue that tells a personal story. Some are poignant; others will have you belly-laughing. Presented by Starling Productions of Rosendale, N.Y. $15 in advance; $20 at the door.
ANOTHER GOOD BET
Archer Mayor of Brattleboro, Vt., author of the Joe Gunther detective series, will celebrate the publication of his book, “Paradise City,” Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Roost right here in, well, Paradise City. This time Joe goes up against some Northampton baddies. The party is also a thank-you to the Northampton Police Department, which helped Mayor with his Pioneer Valley research. Corner of Market and Bridge streets.
