Marschall P. Lohr
SOUTHAMPTON - Marschall P. Lohr, 99, of Southampton, passed away Sept. 17, 2012, at The Overlook at Northampton.
He was born July 19, 1913, in Springfield, the son of the late Albert F. and Mary A. Perry Lohr. He grew up in Springfield and spent his life in the general area, moving to Southampton in 1959.
He was predeceased by his wife Elvie A. Anderson, who died in 1970.
He was the founder, in 1946, and original owner of Connecticut Valley Biological Supply Co. Inc. of Southampton.
Marschall was a lifelong member of the National Trappers Association, a member of Meadow Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Masons and a 32nd degree member of Melha Shrine in Springfield. Gifted with a love of the outdoors and an adventurous spirit, he enjoyed working, telling stories, fishing and trapping.
Marschall is survived by two sons, Richard Lohr and wife Diana and Robert Lohr and wife Pamela, all of Southampton; one daughter, Diane Olechna and husband Dennis of Shelburne, Vt.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 22, at 11:30 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Easthampton, followed by burial in Center Cemetery, Southampton.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., with a Masonic Evergreen Service.
