James Kremensky Jr. held without bail, accused of assaulting woman with lit cigarette

James R. Kremensky Jr., 26, of 491 Bridge Road, Apt. 61H, pleaded not guilty Monday in Northampton District Court to two counts of domestic assault and battery and three counts of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (two counts with a lit cigarette and one count with a shod foot).

He was ordered held without bail by Judge W. Michael Goggins.

According to court records, about 2:50 p.m. Saturday police were contacted by the alleged victim who said she and Kremensky had gotten into an argument earlier and he had put a cigarette out on her face. The victim told police she and Kremensky were in his apartment arguing about their relationship when he slapped her across the face while holding a cigarette, leaving a burn under her left eye, according to court records. The woman left the apartment in her car and Kremensky followed her and confronted her again, according to court files.

The argument continued and Kremensky slapped the woman again with a cigarette in his hand, leaving another burn on her right cheek, according to police.

Kremensky continued to slap and kick the woman until she was able to get back into her vehicle and left the area, police said.

Kremensky is due back in court on May 30 for a pretrial hearing.
