Amherst

∎ Dylan James Bachand, 21, of 35 Cedar Glen, Belchertown, was arrested at 1:08 a.m. Tuesday on Northampton Road on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger and speeding.

Easthampton

∎ James H. McLaughlin, 65, whose address is listed as the streets of New Orleans, was arrested on Maple Street at 12:22 p.m. Monday on a charge of violating an abuse prevention order.

Hadley

∎ A bicyclist was injured at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday while riding a mountain bike in the woods with a friend near the Hadley Reservoir off Bay Road. Police said a male cyclist fell, hurt his knee and was “in and out of consciousness” when ambulance crews arrived. The cyclist was taken to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. No further details were available.

∎ Kenneth E. Lafland, 44, of 122 Bay Road, was arrested at 11:15 p.m. Monday at a Hadley home on charges of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Northampton

∎ Police are investigating a report of a 24-year-old Northampton man being shoved from a moving car Sunday evening.

Police said about 7:30 p.m. the man was riding in the back seat of a car traveling on King Street when the driver began swerving erratically and the passenger grabbed the victim’s sweatshirt and pulled it up over his head.

The car turned around in the parking lot of the Northampton Athletic Club at a high rate of speed when the rear door of the vehicle was opened and the victim was shoved out in the area of North King Street, police said.

The victim briefly lost consciousness and received bruises on his chest, hip and hand and was taken to Cooley Dickinson Hospital by a friend where he was treated and released, police said.

Southampton

∎ Jennifer L. Rannikko, 22, of 20 Brook St., Apt. A, Easthampton, was arrested on East Street at 2:17 a.m. April 30 on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, failing to stop or yield and speeding.

∎ Alexander R. Riel, 22, of 8 Madison Ave., was arrested at his home at 8:55 a.m. April 19 on a charge of domestic assault and battery after he allegedly pushed his girlfriend onto a bed, sat on her chest and struck her in the face and neck with his hand. She declined medical treatment.

∎ Audra L. Alexander, 24, of 118 White Loaf Road, was arrested on that street at 1:03 a.m. March 31 on charges of possession with intent to distribute a Class D drug (marijuana), possession of a Class B drug (MDMA or Molly), possession of a Class C drug (psilocybin mushrooms), four counts of possession of a Class E drug (various prescription pills), and a lights violation.

Police Lt. Michael Goyette said an officer pulled Alexander over for having a defective headlight. The officer smelled marijuana smoke and had reason to search the vehicle when he saw in plain view plastic baggies, a scale and a large amount of cash, he said.

“The officer found 45 separate drugs or drug-related items,” Goyette said, including glass smoking pipes and scales.

∎ Shauna Marie Riel, 24, of 8 Madison Ave., was arrested on College Highway at 1:44 p.m. March 26 on charges of assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery on a public employee and operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended for operating under the influence of alcohol. Police said she threw sneakers at police.
