South Hadley girls swimming team wins every event at Monson

The South Hadley girls swimming team took first place in every event in a 99-77 victory at Monson Wednesday.

Sabree Thomas, Liz Hollering and Shannon Mitchell each won two events apiece, while Cailey Newton and Hannah Nelson each contributed a win.

South Hadley hockey ties Agawam to remain undefeated

Despite putting 35 shots on goal, the South Hadley hockey team could only find the back of the net once in a 1-1 tie with Agawam Wednesday night at Fitzpatrick Rink in Holyoke.

Forward Spencer Nawrocki scored the lone goal for South Hadley (7-0-1), which remains undefeated on the season. Chris Menard and Doug Sattler picked up assists on the goal.

WEST SPRINGFIELD - All of Chris Menard's considerable hockey skills were on full display Friday night.

The South Hadley senior forward scored twice within the first five minutes of play and assisted on a third tally as the Tigers went on to defeat Agawam 3-2 at the Olympia Ice Center.
