GREENFIELD - A five-alarm fire ripped through the building at 29 Chapman St. early Sunday morning, destroying the upper floors and leaving 21 people homeless.

Greenfield Fire Chief Michael Winn said that neither a cause of the fire nor its point of origin had been determined Sunday afternoon, but that both were being investigated.
